The ORISONO Team.

Imagine yourself in a cozy film and sound studio in Lucerne. Pictures of film sets hang on the walls, interspersed with notes and sketches. This is where Alexander Stratigenas and Timothy Ross, two friends and passionate filmmakers, meet with an idea they can't shake. Together, they want to tell stories that touch the heart and bring people together to create something better.

The launch with passion: How it all began

It all began in the sound studio. Alexander Stratigenas completed his training as a federally certified sound engineer with René Zingg at Soundville Media Studios, where he then rented his first own rooms. From this proximity to craftsmanship and music, the idea for ORISONO was born in 2019, together with Timothy Ross. The two were just starting out but had a clear vision and a great deal of passion. When the pandemic shook the world, they faced countless challenges, and instead of giving up, they looked for ways through the difficult time. Thus, they decided to unite film and music under one roof and create an environment where others could collaborate with them.

More Than Just a Name: The Meaning Behind ORISONO

The name ORISONO combines the horizon (from the Greek "horízōn"), which represents thinking beyond the visible and discovering new paths, with the sound of sonare, of hearing and listening, and is thus an invitation to experience stories with open eyes and open ears.

The first projects were small but meaningful films: short films like Pünt, Maiensäss, and Paxmal, which told local stories and captured the beauty of Central Switzerland. Even then, ORISONO was about content with value, about entertainment that left an impression. The community supported the films, and many came to the premieres to see their neighbors and friends on screen.

Fresh Wind in the Team: New Impulses Since 2025

In 2025, fresh wind entered the company: Mick Vuillemier and Sebastian Klinger became partners. Both brought new ideas and perspectives that further inspired the team.

Film for all: An open door for every story

ORISONO's philosophy is simple: film is for everyone. The set is open, because ORISONO is always happy to open it and invite people to look behind the camera and share their stories. ORISONO understands film as a collaboration, as something that makes us human: creating something better together. In old age, one usually looks back at the time of production and rarely at the finished film, and exactly these shared moments are the heart of ORISONO.

The great leap: Partnerships at an international level

The step onto the international stage was exciting: For the Netflix series Contigo Capitán, which ORISONO co-managed with 89 Productions in Switzerland, and the HBO Max series Captains of America, ORISONO, as a local service provider, brought Swiss expertise to major productions. Its own productions, such as the feature film Color of Heaven, which celebrated its world premiere in San Sebastián, and Sew Torn, which premiered at SXSW and was critically acclaimed internationally, showed that stories from Lucerne can be showcased internationally.

Today, ORISONO is more than a production company, as it unites the worlds of film and music. Soundville Media Studios operates one of Switzerland's best Dolby Atmos sound studios in Lucerne, and ORISONO works closely with them. With Orisono Music, the company is also involved in the music world itself, releasing music with artists. For ORISONO, film is also an economy that creates jobs for crews, talents, and partners who find a stage and a livelihood here. This is how people come together to tell their stories, and the team is proud to bring them to life. Everyone is invited to be part of this journey, and together they want to make the world a little better through film.
