Synopsis
Olivia Brontë and Tristán Del Val coincidentally meet again in a hotel after 17 years. In their youth, the philosopher had succumbed to the celebrated actress's charm. For 17 years, the memories of the romance, which had broken due to their ambitious career plans, had endured. About the production
The production history of COLOR OF HEAVEN is closely linked to the Brunnen SZ based production company 89 Productions. Its founder and owner, Ivan Geisser, met Spanish director Joan Marc Zapáta at a film festival and decided to realize the film in Switzerland. ORISONO and Spanish producer Guillem Luna with Arnold Films came on board to produce the sensitive arthouse drama as an international co-production in Central Switzerland.
Filming took place over 17 days in Brunnen and Lucerne. As Ivan grew up in the region, he obtained attractive special conditions, making it possible, for example, to film in the historic Seehotel Waldstätterhof, where the majority of the film is set. Around half of the crew members - and the two main actors - traveled from Spain, as Joan Marc had already known them from his previous film work in Barcelona. Visa management proved to be relatively straightforward thanks to the Schengen Agreement. However, shooting the entire film in just 17 days was challenging despite some large set pieces with elaborate extras. Thanks to a passionate crew, consisting predominantly of young filmmakers, and a lot of dedication, the team mastered all challenges and looks back on an unforgettable time at picturesque Lake Lucerne.

COLOR OF HEAVEN opened the San Sebastián International Film Festival (Donostia Zinemaldia) in the "Made in Spain" section. The film festival is considered the most important in Spain and is one of only 14 A-List festivals accredited by the FIAPF worldwide. Subsequently, the world distributor Begin Again Films secured the rights for worldwide exploitation. It brought the film to streaming platforms and InFlight services of global airlines.
Afterward, a deal was reached with additional streaming providers, so the film is currently available for streaming on Disney+ and Apple TV.
